About the team - Meirav & Jav
OG BAYC Hodlers Meirav and Javi are partners based in Los Angeles. On May 13th, 2021 they started making artwork with their apes and together created BANC. They've utilized their ape IP by creating 1/1 derivatives and are best known for their hand filter generator for apes (Bored Ape Not Bot). They're also gearing up to make stop motion puppets of bored apes for the community.
Meirav Haber is an Israeli-born award-winning independent filmmaker and Los-Angeles based artist specializing in sculpture, painting, and puppet-making. Meirav regularly works for Stoopid Buddy Stoodios on Robot Chicken and content for Disney, Hasbro and Marvel. Meirav earned a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from UCLA and a Master’s in Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University. Meirav is known for her meticulous attention to detail and heart-felt storytelling style, captured in her stop-motion films "STAN” (2014) and "Sylvia" (2019) which showcase old-school practical effects and delicately hand-crafted sets and characters.
Javier Lovato is a producer based in Los Angeles. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Javier began by producing commercials and short films. In 2015 he produced the Sundance selected short film "FUCKKKYOUUU" directed by Eddie Alcazar with music from Flying Lotus. Javier continued on to work as a producer for Brainfeeder Films. Then, in 2018 he produced Alcazar's feature length Sci-fi thriller PERFECT executive produced by Steven Soderbergh. Other credits include feature film KUSO directed by Flying Lotus, HBO documentary TAPIA executive produced by 50 Cent, and the feature film THE WIND which made its world premiere at TIFF in 2018. His latest project is THE VANDAL, executive produced by Darren Aronofsky and starring Bill Duke which premiered at the director’s fortnight in Cannes in 2021.
